Website owners are experiencing sudden and unexplained drops in Google search impressions and organic traffic, often with no manual actions, no technical changes, and no clear cause. The rise of AI Overviews and zero-click searches is further eroding click-through rates, leaving mid-tier sites especially vulnerable. Most site owners lack the tools to distinguish between algorithm updates, shadow penalties, AI Overview displacement, or technical issues — leading to prolonged traffic loss.
A SaaS dashboard that continuously monitors Google Search Console and Google Ads data, automatically correlating traffic drops with known algorithm updates, AI Overview rollouts, and SERP changes. The tool uses historical baselines and ML anomaly detection to flag drops in real-time, classify their likely cause, and surface prioritized, actionable recovery recommendations. It also benchmarks a site's performance against industry peers to reveal whether drops are site-specific or market-wide.
Google's accelerating rollout of AI Overviews in 2025–2026 is causing widespread, structurally different traffic patterns that traditional SEO tools weren't built to interpret. With U.S. organic traffic already down 2.5% YoY and mid-tier sites hit hardest, there is urgent demand for diagnostic tools that go beyond rank tracking to explain *why* traffic is falling and what to do about it.
Over the past months we've noticed a clear drop in overall impressions and clicks, both on: • SEO • Google Ads search campaigns Visibility and clicks are down across the board. One possible explanation we're considering is the impact of AI Overviews / AI-powered search results, where users might get answers directly in the SERP instead of clicking through. On the SEO side, we’re already making some adjustments, but on the paid side, I'm curious what others are seeing and testing. For context: \- Lead generation campaigns \- Mostly Search campaigns \- Mix of exact, phrase and a few broad match \- Using mainly maximise converiosn (target cpa) We also tested activating AI Max option, but honestly it felt like a waste of budget for us. A few questions for the community: 1. Are you seeing the same drop in impressions/clicks across SEO + PPC? 2. Have any specific campaign types been working better recently? (Search, PMax, etc.) 3. Any strategies helping recover lost traffic or conversions? Would love to hear what others are seeing or experimenting with.[](https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/sections/38303584022676-Accessibility)
Hello everyone, I’ve been working on a travel website for about six months, and things were going really well. Traffic, impressions, and clicks were steadily increasing, and several pages were ranking well. However, at the start of the year the traffic suddenly dropped almost overnight. Impressions and clicks went down significantly even though nothing major was changed on the site. Has anyone experienced something similar before? What could cause such a sudden drop, and what steps did you take to recover your rankings and traffic? Any insights would really help.
Hey everyone, Last year in December I launched a website (a small SaaS tool) that has been performing extremely well since then. Everything was stable the last few weeks; no site got de-indexed or anything. I did not change anything structurally or change any content at all. Now, on the 3rd of March, my website experienced an extremely concerning drop in impressions and clicks. This happened for no apparent reason: I still rank 1-2 for all of my major keywords (just confirmed that), no content has changed since, and there has been no change in indexing, crawling, my backlinks or anything. What can I do now? Has anyone experienced the same (new algorithm from Google in the last week)? Edit: My sales have been down at least 70%. As I said, I still rank #1 for my main keywords but seems like Google just blew that keyword and it gets less impressions and clicks everyday. I would like to share screenshots here but Automod does not allow because of low karma...
Search traffic, particularly organic traffic from Google, continues to show declines into early 2026, driven by AI Overviews, zero-click searches, and ranking volatility. Recent reports from the last and this quarter confirm modest year-over-year drops alongside heightened SERP instability. I was researching, and I found out these 3 stats: * U.S. organic search traffic fell 2.5% year-over-year as of early 2026, with mid-tier sites (top 100-10,000) hit hardest while top 10 sites grew 1.6%. * Zero-click rates reached 60% overall and 77% on mobile, as AI summaries resolve more queries without clicks. * A report highlighted AI Overview appearances doubling to 13.14%, slashing organic CTR to 0.61% when present versus 1.62% without. Google ranking volatility persisted into early March, as per certain trackers, causing 20-35% daily traffic drops for some sites amid unconfirmed changes. That's scary, right? No major reversal; publishers expect further erosion from AI tools. So, how are you guys coping with this volatility? What's the future here for SEO?
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been noticing something strange with one of our websites. Earlier, impressions were consistently high (around 70–80K+), but now they’ve been **gradually dropping** for a long time — not suddenly, just slowly going down month by month. What makes it confusing: * No manual actions in Search Console * No major technical changes * Content is still being updated * Some keywords are still ranking * But impressions and traffic are still going down I checked recent SEO news and it looks like Google rankings have been **very volatile recently**, especially after the December 2025 core update and more changes happening in early 2026. So now I’m trying to figure out: Is this happening because of: * algorithm updates? * AI search reducing clicks? * change in search demand? * or something else I’m missing? Would really appreciate hearing from others here. **Are you also seeing impression/traffic drops recently?** **If yes, what was the real reason in your case?**
