Website owners and small SaaS businesses are experiencing sudden, severe drops in Google search impressions and clicks—often 60-75% overnight—after algorithm updates. They have no way to quickly determine whether the cause is an algorithm change, a technical issue, or a penalty, and spend days manually investigating while losing traffic and revenue.

Happened to me and happened to one of my friends who's also made the switch to Linux. Posts complaining about it get taken down for the "low effort" rule even if they're paragraphs long and full of detail. After lots of comments I was making trying to help users or discuss things unrelated to the Linux app all died on the vine even in posts with very few comments, my buddy and I discovered we can't see each other's top level comments anymore to any post within the subreddit. Is this a trustworthy company if they go around purposefully stifling criticism AND resort to shady tactics like shadow bans?
I currently run an instagram for an automotive shop and I create high quality content for them. Recently I’ve seen a major spike in engagement on reels. While my post seem to be the opposite, it’s almost like my content is reaching none of my followers anymore, are following count is around the 5k mark and we average about 50-80 likes a post before, now it’s down to 5-15 likes. I post 7 days a week most of the time alternating from reel to post, I don’t think anything has really change from the quality of my work to make it drop so significantly. If anyone has any tips or advice, anything is appreciated!
Hey all, I launched my site about 4 weeks ago, and Google search impressions/clicks steadily rose to around 30k/300+ a day. All of a sudden, my traffic dropped off a cliff literally overnight. From 30k impressions down to 2000 or less. Today it seems even worse. This is verified through looking at google analytics and the realtime view. Users went from 300-400 per day to a couple dozen. Search was the primary driver of traffic and fastest growing. What happened? Did my site get shadow banned or something? I have no manual actions, everything looks fine. I think all my pages are still indexed, am I just getting buried in the results or not shown at all anymore?
I’m not a marketer, per se. I have experience with it, and a degree in PR/Advertising - but the majority of my career has been in operations. I recently joined a very small company (literally me and the owner) and I’ve been managing the marketing for a couple of months. An IG/FB reel has gained over 60k views over the last 48 hours. In contrast, we’ve averaged about 1800 views per post since I took over. Posts over the last couple of days have been better than average, but nowhere near the 60k+ views that this one has. I’m aware that this particular post didn’t have a clear CTA, and is more of an entertaining “how it’s made” post. What I’m struggling with is how to capitalize on that momentum and convert some of this awareness into sales. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions for me to try? I’d hate for this to be a flash in the pan.
