Marketplace shoppers trying to buy a specific item are being diverted by forced AI? interfaces, sponsored accessories, knockoffs, broken filters, and refreshed recommendation feeds. These disruptions make it difficult to compare products, retain promising results, and verify order details before purchasing. The evidence is concentrated in Amazon reviews, but the underlying job is retailer-independent product research and comparison.
Build a browser extension that converts a shopper's requirements into strict searches across supported retailers, separates exact matches from accessories and substitutes, and saves candidates in a persistent comparison list. The first version should support manual product capture and structured comparison before attempting broad retailer integrations. Revenue could come from a paid household subscription, with clearly disclosed affiliate income as secondary revenue.
Retail marketplaces are inserting generative interfaces and promotional results into basic search, while shoppers are explicitly asking for direct, controllable results. A lightweight independent search layer can restore that control without operating another marketplace.

I'm so sick of this stupid AI. I'm trying to use the search bar, but instead of showing me a list of products that I can browse and filter, this AI assistant pops up instead. Stop forcing this thing and let me search like I used to.
Ruined by AI Used to be good but no way to just browse - forced into garbage prompts and recos instead of just letting me doing a basic search/browse of categories/vendors
Stop the ai I’ve used this app for years, but I cannot stand the useless and invasive ai features. Want to ask a question? Their ai forces itself into it, taking forever to load, slowly adding to their answer, making the “show related customer reviews & Q&A” button move every time you try to click it. Then forcing ai into your searches, pulling up a completely useless and slow-loading page instead of showing you what you actually want? What is going on? I cannot stand this use of ai added into things that already worked. I don’t care what ai thinks I want, I want what I’m searching for and for actual information from buyers and sellers.
