The Problem

Companies approaching 80 to 300 employees can no longer transmit culture through direct contact with the founder. Abstract values such as customer care become inconsistently interpreted across managers, locations, and new hires, creating internal misalignment. Existing mission statements rarely provide concrete standards for hiring, evaluating, rewarding, or dismissing employees.

Potential Solution

Deliver a structured implementation sprint that interviews founders and exemplary employees, identifies the behaviors behind the company's strongest cultural norms, and converts them into role-specific rubrics. The engagement produces interview questions, onboarding scenarios, manager evaluation guides, recognition rituals, and performance-review criteria. Initial delivery should be facilitated consulting supported by reusable templates and periodic calibration sessions.

Why Now?

Distributed teams, rapid hiring, and additional management layers weaken founder-to-employee cultural transmission earlier in a company's growth. The signals repeatedly describe culture codification as an operational requirement once organizations approach or exceed 100 employees.

And what a wild cultural artifact that is. What impact that has, that your mission statement is so profound and so deeply ingrained, so everything you do is measured by this thing that it feels almost cultish when people are saying, did you delight your customers today? Or did you, did you disagree and commit? Or just like all of these different leadership principles are being spewed out in common conversation. Like it's just, this is normal. It's not freaking normal, by the way. But I, but what I realized is there are elements of startup culture and elements of the culture you create as a CEO that can survive you and survive immense scale. And that may deserve to survive.
