Small business owners with 1-10 employees face overwhelming complexity when choosing health insurance, from understanding eligibility requirements for different plan structures (PEO, small group, marketplace) to comparing PPO vs HDHP/HSA options based on their actual medical usage. They struggle to calculate true costs including premiums, deductibles, tax advantages, and employer contributions, while navigating state-specific compliance requirements and entity-type restrictions.
A decision-support platform that collects business details (entity type, state, employee count, payroll) and medical usage patterns, then automatically determines eligibility for all available insurance structures, calculates total cost of ownership for each option including tax implications, and provides personalized plan recommendations. The tool guides users through compliance requirements and optimal setup strategies, eliminating guesswork and potential costly mistakes.
Health insurance premiums have skyrocketed for small groups, forcing more business owners to explore alternatives like PEOs and marketplace plans. The rise of S-Corps and micro-businesses (accelerated by remote work trends) has created a growing segment of sophisticated business owners who need expert-level guidance but can't afford traditional brokers.

Sorry for another one of these questions, but I want to be sure this works. I have a reasonably successful S-Corp that currently has only myself as the employee. Occasionally, I have people come in to help for a year or two but nothing consistent. My wife is quitting her job in marketing at Big Corp where we've been getting our health insurance from to raise our kiddos and also help me with some marketing/admin work. Can I hire her on as an hourly employee with \~$5k/year in hourly pay so that there are two of us and qualify for the employer provided health insurance plans through Gusto? Thanks!
Sorry for another health insurance question but I want to be sure this works! I have an S-Corp in California that currently has myself as the only employee. My wife is quitting her marketing job soon at Big Corp where we get our health insurance from to raise our kiddos and help me with marketing/admin tasks. With her as an hourly employee with about $5k/year in earnings, would we qualify for the employer provided plans through Gusto since we are 2 employees? Thanks!
