Parents of infants with reflux struggle to determine safe oatmeal thickening ratios for bottles, track medication dosing, and monitor episode patterns. They rely on inconsistent anecdotal forum advice while worrying about safety, and lack systematic ways to correlate changes with outcomes or share data with pediatricians.
A mobile app providing personalized oatmeal-to-formula calculations based on infant weight/age, visual consistency logging via camera, episode tracking with customizable symptom tags, medication reminders, and pediatrician-ready reports. Includes safety parameter alerts and nipple flow recommendations based on thickness level.
With 30-50% of infants experiencing reflux and parents increasingly managing pediatric care digitally, there's demand for specialized precision tools. Current options are generic baby trackers or manual logs, creating a gap for reflux-specific solutions that bridge home care and medical consultations.

I have been adding oatmeal to babies bottle to help with reflux. It just seems like i need a lot to get it to thicken. Im using the creamy oatmeal from baby gourmet brand. How many scoops per ounce do you put for a oatmeal bottle? She is 4 months in a week.
Hello everyone! My baby is 5 weeks old (almost 6 weeks). Shes had terrible reflux and was taking pepcid + trying formula changes. Nothing has seemed to really help. The doctor now prescribed her Omeprazole with dosing at 2.5ml a day. She last weighed 8.9 lbs so I’m hoping this is okay. I’m going to call the pediatrician again tomorrow and talk more about it, but I also like to hear others people experiences. Did your baby do well on it? Did it cause them issues during taking it or even now that they are older? My husband read some -POSSIBLE- side effects so it had us both worried… But our baby is so miserable I feel we need to try whatever we can :( Thanks guys!
Hi everyone, first time mom to a 4 month old. She’s on similac alimentum. We recently got the go ahead to thicken her formula with oatmeal due to reflux. She’s also on Pepcid but the Pepcid alone isn’t helping much. The oatmeal has been helping a little, but yesterday she had what we call a reflux episode in my house- throwing herself back stiff, red, shaking and screaming. Only thing we can do is hold her upright and wait for it to pass. Yesterday I was putting 1/2 tsp for 4 ounces of formula in her bottles. Because of her reflux episode (which is always super distressing for her and us) I decided to thicken it up. But I had to size up her nipple to a size 3 (mam). I’ve read anecdotes about parents adding 1 tsp for ounce of formula to thicken for reflux. So, I did 4 tsp for 4 ounces of formula with a size 3 nipple. She LOVED it, guzzled it down. My issue: she was coughing during the feed. She’s been coughing lately even before we introduced the oatmeal. I have PPA which was under control until her reflux got worse. Y’all, I am SO anxious that she possibly aspirated on the oatmeal/formula mixture. She is acting FINE. Her breathing is fine, I have an owlet for her, and she’s actually content for once. So logically I know this is probably not a big deal. But my anxiety is also telling me something bad is happening and I hurt my daughter. So basically, I’m asking parents out there- has anyone had experience with thickening formula with oatmeal for reflux, and has anyone’s baby aspirated on it and had issues resulting of it? Sorry if this isn’t the right flair. Again baby is acting fine. I just have anxiety
