Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m the founder of AgeCheckAPI.com The idea came from a simple observation: most age verification solutions collect far more personal data than they actually need. In many cases, an application or website needs to know only one thing: is the user old enough? It doesn’t need their name, date of birth, or a copy of their ID. At the same time, Europe is rolling out trusted national digital identity wallets. We saw an opportunity to build an API that leverages this new infrastructure while keeping privacy at the center. Our goal was to make integration as simple as any modern REST API. Developers shouldn’t have to become identity experts or deal with complex verification flows. They should be able to add age verification in minutes and receive a simple boolean response. Building the first version meant balancing security, compliance, and developer experience. We spent a lot of time simplifying the API, improving the documentation, and reducing the amount of code required for integration.
