Client finally paid me 43 days late and I'm tired Wrapped up a full brand + digital ad project back in May. Logo, ad creative, all of it. $2,300 invoice, sent on time. Due date comes and goes. Nothing. I wait a few days so I don't look impatient, then send the "hey just following up" email. Friendly. Casual. Nothing back. A week later, another one. Slightly less friendly this time but still trying not to sound like a jerk since I actually liked this client and want more work from them. Another week goes by. No explanation. No sorry for the wait. Just a payment notification like nothing happened. Honestly the late payment doesn't even bother me that much anymore. What gets me is being my own collections department every time. I like designing stuff and building campaigns that actually work. I do not like drafting increasingly less patient emails wondering if I'm being too pushy or not enough. So I built a small tool for myself called PaidYet that just handles the follow up part.
