A productized consulting service that turns fragmented, slow SaaS? frontends into scalable paved paths teams can adopt incrementally.
Added Jul 31, 2026
Growing SaaS? companies accumulate inconsistent components, performance problems, accessibility gaps, and fragile frontend-to-backend integrations. Replacing the application is rarely practical, so engineering leaders need a migration plan that improves the active codebase without blocking feature delivery or relying on one-off technical heroics.
Deliver a fixed-scope frontend architecture audit followed by an implementation sprint covering shared components, performance budgets, accessibility standards, backend-for-frontend boundaries, and an incremental migration roadmap. The service establishes one paved path in a production workflow, documents adoption patterns, and helps an internal team migrate the next representative feature.
Companies deploying data-heavy and AI-enabled products are adding streaming results, long-running jobs, reporting interfaces, and complex tool workflows to frontend stacks that were not designed for them. The signals show multiple firms hiring senior engineers specifically to manage this architectural and cross-team complexity.

Join our team and work alongside Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and QA to build and evolve the web experience of our SaaS platform. In this role, you'll focus on frontend architecture, design, and hands-on development — implementing new features, improving existing functionality, fixing issues, and participating in reviews and technical discussions. You'll work mostly with React and TypeScript, integrating with our Java-based backend services and owning the Node.js / Fastify BFF layer, working with async processing, and building the data-heavy reporting views that make large-scale analysis usable. The backend services are built in Java by other teams — you won't be developing the Java backend yourself; the server-side code you own is the BFF .
We’re looking for a seasoned Frontend Engineer to craft performant and delightful user experiences across Baseten’s core platform. You’ll own critical parts of our web application stack and collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams to launch impactful features that help users deploy and manage AI systems at scale.
This is a systems role, not a single-team role. You'll work across the concerns that overlap in frontend at scale: performance, accessibility, UX consistency, and availability. Much of the work is evolving a large, actively developed codebase rather than starting from scratch, so success depends as much on migration strategy and cross-team alignment as on architecture. You'll shape paved paths that many teams adopt, not one-off solutions that rely on heroics. You'll partner closely with other Principal and Staff engineers, Engineering Managers, and Product and Design leadership to decide where the platform goes next and to drive that direction to real, shipped outcomes.
