The Problem

Aspiring founders often keep business ideas trapped in notes, overthink them for months, or start building before testing whether anyone wants the offer. The signals repeatedly mention a desire for blunt feedback, blind spot detection, and accountability from people actively building. The pain is not lack of startup content; it is the lack of concrete, timely, human critique before execution.

Potential Solution

Start as a productized service that runs weekly small-group idea teardown sessions for side hustlers and first-time founders. Buyers submit an idea, target customer, landing page, or execution plan, then receive structured critique, risk scoring, competitor checks, and a 7-day validation assignment. Delivery can begin manually through live calls, written teardown reports, and moderated peer review before any software is built.

Why Now?

The signals show fatigue with guru content, generic courses, and AI-generated feedback. More people are experimenting with side hustles, but they need practical pre-build validation and accountability, not another passive community.

I built Wedge to help founders validate startup ideas before wasting months building, looking for honest feedback!

Sorry, but I’m going to be a hard on you here. This is kind of my area of expertise. This is another AI chatbot in a wrapper. It’s good at talking you through an idea and next steps. It’s not going to give you particular insightful or innovative advice, just what is statistically the advice most likely to work. The same as everyone else. You could get most of this for free. There are loads of these around, and this one doesn’t do anything to stand out. You need to check out the competitor and work out your USP. Also, your pricing makes no sense in the context of customer behaviour. People will pay per idea, but they won’t have ideas enough to justify a monthly subscription. Pay-per-idea makes more sense.

no gurus, spam, no "i made 10k in a week" screenshots. just people working on real ideas who want honest feedback and somewhere to share wins channel called grill my idea where you drop your concept and get genuine reactions from other people building things. also doing a startup of the week feature now 50 members, small enough that you actually get noticed comment if you want in.

the whole concept is simple. you drop your idea in a channel called "grill my idea" and real people tell you what they actually think. not ai generated responses, not cheerleading, just honest reactions from other founders who are in the trenches we also just started a startup of the week feature where the best idea gets featured and gets eyes on it from the whole community 40 members so far, small enough that every post gets a real response [discord.gg/59tZyx9fd](discord.gg/.../59tZyx9fd) if you want in
