The Problem

People with persistent impulse-spending problems often understand budgeting but cannot reliably follow a budget while money and payment methods remain immediately accessible. They need practical help separating essential funds, savings, and discretionary money, then removing shortcuts that allow an impulse to defeat the plan.

Potential Solution

Offer a guided setup session that maps essential expenses, establishes a controlled spending allowance, routes income into separate accounts, and removes stored cards or other low-friction payment methods. The service can include weekly transaction reviews and accountability check-ins for the first month, with referral boundaries for customers who may need licensed debt, addiction, or mental-health support.

Why Now?

Digital wallets, stored cards, instant transfers, and one-click checkout have reduced spending friction, while modern payroll and banking systems increasingly support split deposits, scheduled transfers, account pockets, and card controls.

Im 33 and i have no savings and a shopping addiction, what do i do to turn my finances around?
Calculate the amount you can afford to save, then send your direct deposit from work to an account that's really difficult for you to access but is preferably a high-yield savings account. Most employers let you designate either a dollar amount or a percentage to go to different accounts. If for some reason your employer doesn't let you split a direct deposit, then you may be able to automate something with your bank. I have mine send 20% of every direct deposit to my HYSA. You need to decrease friction on the savings part, and increase friction on the spending part. Look for the techniques that do those two things. Talk to your friends. Have them help you set a limit when you go out with them.
