The Problem

Consumer AI teams can ship model or policy updates that silently alter behavior across long conversations and established user workflows. Conventional software tests often miss subjective but commercially damaging regressions such as excessive refusals, forgotten context, argumentative responses, incorrect account-limit claims, and rejected generations consuming paid allowances. Users frequently discover these failures only after release, resulting in cancellations and lost trust.

Potential Solution

Provide a managed regression-testing service built around versioned conversation scenarios derived from each product's support tickets, app reviews, policy boundaries, and highest-value workflows. Before every model or prompt release, the service runs multi-turn tests against the current and proposed versions, has trained reviewers evaluate disputed results, and delivers a prioritized release report with reproducible transcripts. The initial operation can be human-led, with reusable test libraries and comparison tooling added as recurring patterns emerge.

Why Now?

AI products increasingly depend on frequently changing third-party models, moderation systems, prompts, and usage policies, making behavior less predictable than conventional application code. The signals show paying users noticing material regressions across multiple products and update cycles.

Character AI: Chat, Talk, Text

This app has really gone downhill badly! it used to be my favorite AI app. now between the annoying ads and the absurdly strict guidelines it is literally impossible to create an AI character or even enjoy the app at all. I had planned on buying the premium subscription again but at this point I think I'm just going to keep my money and give up on this app. from now on I'm just going to use Kindroid. you have more freedom there and less ads.

Ash - AI for Mental Health

Voice changes I probably would’ve given this app 4/5 stars if they hadn’t changed the voices. When I first downloaded it, I absolutely loved it and I especially loved the female voice with a New York accent. It felt unique, and after using the app every day, I really got accustomed to it. Then one day I logged in and the voice was gone, replaced with new options that I don’t care for nearly as much. I was pretty bothered by this… I reached out to customer support and never received a response, which made me feel like they didn’t care. It has definitely put a damper on my experience with the app. There are also a few glitches, like it sometimes responding when I’m just clearing my throat, but other than that, I do like the app. If they ever bring back the voice I originally loved, I’d be more than happy to update my review and rating.

ChatGPT

Horrible update I updated ChatGPT to the latest version on iPhone and it is absolutely horrible. They’ve ruined the app entirely for me. They changed the voice and the voice is horrible and it talks real slow with dramatic pauses. It doesn’t sound natural.. And it doesn’t even work half the time it tells you it’s not available. Way to mess things up OpenAI.
