People tracking nutrition and weight depend on daily records, yet numerous apps freeze, lose historical entries, miscalculate nutrients, overwrite data during synchronization, or make corrections difficult. These failures force users to reconstruct meals, enter measurements in several systems, or abandon tracking altogether. Subscription changes and removed features further undermine trust in tools holding years of personal history.
Build a local-first journal that records meals, nutrients, weight, water, and exercise immediately on the device, with an auditable history and automatic encrypted backups. Users can scan a nutrition label, enter or correct any value, reuse saved meals, and export their complete records without depending on a proprietary food database. Optional device connections can be added only after the core offline workflow and conflict-safe synchronization are reliable.
Recent reviews show continuing data-loss and accuracy complaints across traditional trackers, meal-plan products, connected scales, and AI food scanners. Increasing use of generated estimates makes a user-verifiable source of truth more valuable, while subscription fatigue creates room for transparent one-time pricing.

This app definitely helps to keep you accountable, even though I have failed a few times while using it. It is easy to hop back into the routine and get going again if one takes it seriously. It is user friendly. However, I'd like an option to better edit the meals, like how many servings you may have had of an item in your meals or snacks.
Simple keeps me accountable to myself. Reminds me what I need to do and let's me know when I didn't make good choices. I like the information for healthy food options, exercises and motivation that are all part of the app. I really like avo.
This app has a lot of potential. The most frustrating thing is the nutrition can't be manually fixed. My calories, protein and fiber numbers are always off. I would like to be able to fix them.
