The Problem

Field-service contractors often wait for batch settlement before they can purchase materials, schedule crews, or begin customer jobs. Payment providers want to offer weekend and on-demand funding, but implementing irrevocable instant payments requires new treasury controls, account validation, exception procedures, and network connectivity.

Potential Solution

Provide a fixed-scope implementation service that designs and launches seven-day settlement for field-service platforms, merchant acquirers, and specialized payment providers. The service maps settlement rules, selects a bank or payment partner, configures account and balance checks, establishes transaction limits and exception procedures, and runs a controlled contractor pilot. Reusable implementation templates can later become a productized managed operation.

Why Now?

Instant-payment usage is growing alongside ACH rather than merely replacing it, and roughly half of cited RTP activity occurs outside traditional banking hours. Field-service businesses increasingly expect faster access to deposits so they can order materials and begin jobs without waiting for the next banking day.

You know, having the bank account confirmed as well as the balance in the bank account to, you know, help reduce those pesky returns that we always see, you know, on day two of a four-day cycle. You know, that really helped a lot. And then also, you know, with the advancements in Next Day ACH, which we launched, it was the ninth of this month in July, that has been adopted. And that's just been something that everyone has been asking for. You know, the cash flow for these businesses, you know, you have to make sure we're getting them paid fast, you know, after settlement. And that way, they're able to, you know, get those deposits quicker, get those products ordered quicker, and, you know, get into those jobs and on the sites and, you know, really, really help their businesses grow, you know, at that point.

Absolutely. And yeah, small compared to ACH, but in compared to same day ACH, the numbers are getting more and more comparable. And what I, when I observed and you know, to see my LinkedIn post and people listening, hopefully are also following me on LinkedIn, but the, growth of these networks, FedNow and RTP has not really diminished the use of these other networks that are out there, like same day ACH, right? You're seeing the volume of FedNow and RTP growing like crazy and same day ACH is continuing to grow as well. So like, it's just, it's clear that we're finding demand for this type of transaction that wasn't, that, requires the unique characteristics of an instant payment.
