The Problem

Streaming services inconsistently preserve favorites, completed titles, and continue-watching records. Their limited rating controls also prevent viewers from expressing nuanced preferences, while recommendations often treat every completed title as equally liked. People using multiple services therefore lack a reliable record of what they watched, enjoyed, abandoned, or want to revisit.

Potential Solution

Build an independent viewing journal where users maintain a permanent watch history, star ratings, favorites, progress, and notes across services. Start with fast manual entry and metadata lookup, then add optional imports from viewing-history exports and browser-assisted capture where permitted. Recommendations should use explicit ratings and exclusions rather than assuming that completion means approval.

Why Now?

Streaming fragmentation makes service-owned histories incomplete, while disappearing favorites and coarse reaction controls create demand for a user-owned record. However, established watch-tracking products make differentiation and low-friction data capture essential.

Watch List: TV Series & Movies

Love the app as my friend has wanted to watch more and more movies with me I like having a way to recall what all we've seen. I wish there was a self add option though as I have run into an issue where we watched a like self made and released movie and now I can't add it to my list because it's not in the data base. other than that idea for a future feature I still enjoy and will continue to use this app

Watch List: TV Series & Movies

It would be perfect if you could state you finished a season without having to rate it each time. I selected the hide rating button, but it didn't work. Also an option to select that you finished a season without having to "start watching" it. If that was fixed it would be a strong contender to replace TV Time. Still on the search I guess 🙁

Queue - Find Movies & Shows

A not perfect, but still great app for film and television fans I use Queue literally every day because I’m a huge movie and television fan, which means I’m very aware of the good and the bad of this app. Its biggest problem is just that the app can be very laggy at points, and in general could use a bit more optimization on things. Sometimes it takes a bit for recent reviews to be updated into your watched list and it also in general can just be pretty sl

There’s a good mix of movies, TV shows and original productions to browse through. I also like features such as profiles, watchlists and the option to download supported titles when I want to watch offline.
