The Problem

People can remain distressed for months or years after a breakup, especially when an ex remains present, disappears without closure, or leaves the relationship ambiguous. Friends often lose patience before the distress subsides, while individual therapy may be expensive, unavailable, or more intensive than some people initially want.

Potential Solution

Run time-limited, facilitator-led recovery cohorts with weekly sessions, moderated peer support, personal recovery plans, and clear escalation paths to licensed mental health care. The service would focus on practical workflows such as setting contact boundaries, handling triggers, restoring routines, and measuring progress without presenting itself as therapy unless delivered by licensed clinicians.

Why Now?

The signals show persistent distress alongside explicit consideration of therapy and a shortage of sustained social support. A structured group service can be launched locally or by video with little capital and tested before adding broader operations.

How do I not emotionally ‘wait’ for someone?
It will be hard, trust me, I’ve been through a whirlwind romance like this too where I felt and still feel like he is the one even if I have to wait. I’d recommend zero contact even if it’s difficult because any contact will stir up feelings again. Also, remember that a relationship is a 4 way dynamic: the relationship with yourself, the relationship with your partner, your partner’s relationship with themself and your partner’s relationship with you. All four are different but connected, and it is important to pour love into all containers and trust that the other person does the same. Based off of this model, it seems like you both have to return love and work on yourselves and your own issues. By doing so, maybe eventually a relationship could work but for now it’s important that you pour into yourselves. So, I’d really suggest you return to yourself. Introspect, journal, indulge in your favorite hobbies, remember what makes your inner child sparkle and invest in that. It will be hard, but the longest relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself, and it’s detrimental that you learn how to be with yourself again especially since you haven’t been single for awhile. Time will make things easier too. Good luck and you got this!

unsure how to feel
You can't stay close to your fresh ex-boyfriend. You can't get over what's always in front of you. Take (at least temporary) space. You're in a relationship without the relationship part and it's gonna kill you.

i 19f got into a relationship when i wasn’t actually over my ex bf but now bf 20m , how do i tell the new person than i was never over my ex ?
Why do people do this nonsense? Instead of dealing with unresolved feelings for your ex, you decide to start dating someone else. Just break up with the new guy.
