Homeowners planning wardrobes, bathrooms, and other space-sensitive projects struggle to model nonstandard rooms and place products accurately. Existing design apps often restrict basic dimension controls, omit relevant product models, or make rotation, alignment, and navigation too cumbersome for occasional users. This leaves buyers uncertain whether expensive items will fit before ordering or installation.
Offer a remote, productized planning service that converts customer measurements, photos, and product links into an accurate room model with two or three viable layouts. A planner checks clearances, doors, windows, niches, and installation constraints, then delivers an annotated floor plan, visual renders, and a purchase list. The business can begin as a human-delivered service using existing design tools and later productize measurement intake, reusable product libraries, and automated fit checks.
Consumers increasingly plan rooms and purchase modular furnishings online, while the reviews show that general-purpose design apps still require too much skill for precise fit decisions. A service can solve the immediate workflow without building another full home-design application.

Not just for professionals! I’ve been using magicplan for years to help me create floorplans and figure out my furniture arrangements in my own home for years now. It’s super intuitive and I love being able to see things in 3d to get an understanding of a space. I’m sure I don’t use even half of the features meant for real contractors/professionals, but just as a person who’s moved into new apartments over the years and needed to decide where furniture should go, etc, it’s
horrible obscenely expensive for an extremely difficult interface. i hate this app and i just spent too much money on it after forgetting to cancel the free trial. i regret it more than anything. do not download this
Free to download. NOT free to use. Very misleading. Just charge to download the dang app man. Wasted my time downloading it only for there to be a pay wall. Yikes.
