A simple household planner that converts saved recipes into a priced grocery list and keeps a running cart total.

High opportunity (76%)
Household shoppers currently split meal planning, recipe storage, list creation, and grocery budgeting across notes, printed recipes, and complicated apps. Existing products add confusing inventory logic, require repeated price entry, fail during basic setup, or place routine features behind subscriptions. Shoppers primarily want to choose meals, generate a clean list, and know whether the cart will fit their budget.
Build a focused grocery-planning product that imports recipes, adjusts serving sizes, combines ingredients into one editable list, and estimates the total using store catalogs, receipt history, or previously entered prices. During shopping, barcode scanning should retrieve a known price when available and make corrections fast when it is not. Start with a one-time-purchase product and optional paid store-data coverage rather than forcing every household into a subscription.
Food-price pressure makes pre-trip budgeting more valuable, while digital receipts and retailer catalogs make price estimates increasingly practical. The reviews also show continued demand for recipe consolidation and grocery lists, but frustration with unreliable and overly complicated products.

I'm really enjoying this app. I paid for the upgrade and don't regret it at all. It's a good app and helps me organize meals and recipes.
Using a youTube or website link to pull all instructions, ingredients and even macros is amazing. My only complaint is calories are calculated based on the portion size (eg. 6 people). This wouldn't be an issue if it recalculated when adjusting portion size. however this seems to be a one time feature. This results in your daily calories being in the thousands rather than per person. If updated then it's 5 stars from me.
this app is so nice. you do jave to put yourown recipes in but to plan it works well . you can set breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack and prepopulate a week. the idea is having set menus that you can switch through every week. having more than one week is a paid for feature but its about R300 a year.
