The Problem

People with sensitive, oily, and congestion-prone skin struggle to translate conflicting product advice into a routine they can tolerate. Commonly recommended ingredients can cause burning, tightness, redness, or excess oil, while repeated trial-and-error purchases waste money and may worsen symptoms. Customers need help distinguishing cosmetic concerns from problems that require medical evaluation.

Potential Solution

Offer a paid remote routine audit conducted by a licensed skincare professional, covering symptoms, product history, ingredient reactions, budget, climate, and daily conditions such as commuting. Deliver a minimal morning-and-evening routine, a staged patch-testing schedule, and an optional trial-size product kit sourced from established brands. Include a follow-up review and clear referral criteria for itching, persistent inflammation, suspected dermatitis, or other symptoms requiring a dermatologist.

Why Now?

Influencer recommendations and crowded product catalogs have increased choice without resolving compatibility for reactive skin. These signals show repeated demand for individualized alternatives and evidence that customers already spend money on unsuccessful routines.

[Routine Help] Oily but chronically damaged barrier + severe acne. Stuck in a loop and can't start tretinoin. Help?
hi, i'm sorry you're going through this and i can't recommend any specific products since my skin isn't nearly as sensitive as yours. but i'd try a good micellar water with simple ingredients, no actives or fragrance or anything like that just look for a plain and basic micellar water. i'd strip down your routine to the basics (cleanser/micellar water, any hydrating products you can find, moisturizer to seal hydration). maybe try to cleanse as little as possible if it irritates your skin. personally, i skip cleansing in the morning most of the time, but you can try to cleanse with the micellar water if you really need to. for PM routine, if you can't find a cleanser that doesn't upset your skin, i'd also just use the micellar until your skin calms down a bit (unless you wore any makeup or sunscreen that day, i wouldn't double cleanse). i think the extreme oiliness and breaking out might be caused by your compromised skin barrier, so i would focus on that. try a simple routine for a few weeks and see if it gets better. look for a hydrating toner or serum, something with a high percentage of ceramides but no actives. when you find one that doesn't irritate your skin (no burning or bad redness etc.), you can layer it. you don't necessarily need different products to layer, you can just wait for the toner/serum to dry and then apply more. as a last step, seal the moisture in with a good moisturizer or cream, also something very basic. it shouldn't be too occlusive, but it needs a small amount of oils as ingredients to seal. something without fragrance or essential oils would probably be best. a lot of people like the Aestura or Dr. Althea moisturizers/creams – i personally haven't tried any of those so i can't tell you much about them. i think there's also an Aestura Atobarrier Lotion as an alternative option to the Cream, that's probably not as thick and maybe that's less occlusive. you can also just use some Squalane oil as the last routine step, in case everythin...

[Routine Help] What can I use for this?

Hello everyone, I have made a habit to start doing my skincare routine more consistently, and one thing I’ve had trouble dealing with is my skin texture; it appears rough with bumps and some slight hyperpigmentation (that part doesn’t really bother me, mostly the texture). Does anyone know what products I could use to potentially smooth my skin? Here are the list of products I currently use as part of my routine: Medicine cleansing foam Anua azelaic acid cleansing toner (haven’t used this one as much) Anua retinol revitalizing eye cream Anua perm hyaluronic acid serum Harry‘s Post Shave Balm (when I shave) Neutrogena Collagen Bank SPR moisturizer (when I go out) Anua rice moisturizing milk (at night) As a side note, I have Keratosis Pilaris on my arms and so I’m thinking that may be related to what happening on face, not sure, however.

[Routine Help] Uneven skin texture and redness

My stats: 30 Male My skin gets fairly blotchy and red progressively throughout the day. The problematic area is on my right cheek, though. I have been under a lot of stress lately, which might also be contributing to my current breakout but my texture is so horrible. I also hate red it gets. Makes me feel so insecure to leave the house sometimes because my skin looks atrocious. I’ve cut out any harsh products and stuck to barrier repairing creams. I will say that I’ve tried Azelaic Acid but didn’t see an improvement and it actually made my face redder. It also stung a bit. My current routine for AM/PM is: Softymo Cushion Cleansing Oil (I double cleanse sometimes) Anua Hyaluronic Acid Squalane Cleanser Prequel Hypochlorous Acid spray Personal Day Salicylic Acid Toner for my nose For moisturizers, I alternate between three. I use Vanicream Enhanced Moisturizer, Round Lab Cica Cream, and Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream I double moisturize and follow up with Avene Cicaflate or Aveeno Colloidal Oat balm My skin was slightly improving until I used La-Roche Posay’s sunscreen with Azelaic Acid a few weeks ago. I stopped using it after I noticed my flare up. Now it’s gotten back to a horrible state. Need someone to please help me with suggestions. I am so over this!
